Projects I've Worked On

UBC Science Student Development Website

This website is for the Science Student Development department at the University of British Columbia. It features resources for student support, such as notices for events for academic and professional development, blog posts on advice for academic success, and links to the weekly newsletter.

I was the main front-end developer for this responsive website in my role as the Communications Assistant for Science Student Development.

Technologies Used: HTML, CSS, Twitter Bootstrap, Wordpress, Photoshop, Paintshop Pro

WeatherWear Android Application

This app allows the user to look up the current weather conditions of their location of choosing and suggests weather-appropriate clothing.

This app was developed with a partner as part of the UBC Bachelor of Computer Science 2015 Hackathon. We essentially accomplished this through pair programming by coding on one laptop and using the other to research and look for examples on the web for some functionalities we wanted.

Technologies Used: Java, Eclipse IDE, Android Studio, OpenWeather API

This app helps the user find restaurants near the bus stop they are currently at; it's for the times when you've just missed your bus and instead of waiting in the cold for half an hour, you can go fill your stomach!

This app was developed with a group of 4 as part of the UBC Bachelor of Computer Science Fall 2015 Hackathon.

Technologies Used: JavaScript, Node.js, Express.js, Eclipse IDE, EGit, Translink BC API, Zomato API

Hungry at the Bus Stop Web Application
Meet-Up Android Application

This Android Application allows students at UBC the ability to find other students to meet up with in between mutual breaks in their schedules. This app displays the students' schedules on a map of UBC and shows the route between their classes while highlighting dining locations on campus that they can meet up at.

This application was developed as part of my Software Construction class at UBC (CPSC 210). We were given the UI and some supporting methods but I implemented the client side.

Technologies Used: Java, Eclipse IDE, Android Studio, MapQuest API, FourSquare API

Vancouver Culture Crawl Web Application

A web application that helps you locate and explore various cultural spaces in the city of Vancouver.

This web application was developed as a project for my Introduction to Software Engineering class (CPSC 310). My major contributions include: Front-end development, implementation of server-side code to retrieve data from a remote server and refactoring.

Technologies Used: Java, Eclipse IDE, EGit, GWT Web Framework, HTML, CSS, Photoshop, Google Maps API, Vancouver Open Data
